The role involves joining the Jensten Group as a motivated Sales Development Specialist. You will ideally be based near our Cheadle Hulme or Watnall office (with hybrid working options), but we will also consider remote working for the right person. Reporting to the Head of Health & Protection, the main purpose of the role is to proactively identify, research, and engage with Employee Benefits prospects, supporting the growth of the business through high-quality lead generation.

Some key objectives & responsibilities will include:

  • Drive targeted generation of new business leads.
  • Conduct outbound calls to prospects, qualifying leads and booking appointments.
  • Collaborate closely with Exec's/Consultants and attend regular sales and pipeline meetings to align priorities and share insights.
  • Use CRM (Acturis) to record all prospecting activity and maintain accurate opportunity data.
  • Monitor and report on call activity.
  • Encourage and support all staff in identifying potential leads for follow-up, subsequently researching and obtaining renewal dates and adding to the pipeline.
  • Maintain and update opportunity pipeline in offices to track prospecting progress and team contributions.
  • Deliver weekly reports on lead generation activity, including number of calls made, leads generated, appointments booked and conversion rates.
  • Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA.

As our Sales Development Specialist, you will have excellent communication and written skills with a keen eye for detail. You will be the type of person who wants to constantly develop, and you can expect fantastic career progression, training & development within the role and Insurance Industry in general. You will also be or have:

  • Insurance background preferred (Employee Benefits/Commercial ideally).
  • Previous experience in a sales/new business generation type role (essential).
  • Great customer service & sales skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner, being able to network & build working relationships easily.
  • Drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within Insurance.
  • Able to use initiative and can multi-task, updating relevant systems and admin.
