The role involves joining the Jensten Group as a motivated Sales Development Specialist based at our Kidderminster office, with hybrid working options available after settling into the role. Reporting to the Branch Director and collaborating closely with Account Executives (AEs), the main purpose is to proactively identify, research, and engage with Commercial Insurance prospects, supporting business growth through high-quality lead generation.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Drive targeted generation of new business leads.
- Conduct outbound calls to prospects, qualifying leads and booking appointments for AEs.
- Collaborate closely with AEs and attend regular sales and pipeline meetings to align priorities and share insights.
- Use CRM (Acturis) to record all prospecting activity and maintain accurate opportunity data.
- Monitor and report on call activity.
- Encourage and support all staff in identifying potential leads for follow-up, researching and obtaining renewal dates, and adding to the pipeline.
- Maintain and update opportunity pipeline in offices to track prospecting progress and team contributions.
- Deliver weekly reports on lead generation activity, including number of calls made, leads generated, appointments booked, and conversion rates.
- Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA.
About You: As our Sales Development Specialist, you’ll have excellent communication and written skills with a keen eye for detail. You will be driven to constantly develop, with opportunities for fantastic career progression, training, and development within the role and the Insurance Industry.
You will also possess:
- Insurance background preferred (Commercial ideally).
- Previous experience in a sales/new business generation type role (essential).
- Great customer service & sales skills.
- Excellent telephone manner, able to network & build working relationships easily.
- Drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within Insurance.
- Able to use initiative and can multi-task, updating relevant systems and admin.
