We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our Jensten London Markets (JLM) team, based in Central London. The main purpose of the role is to support the development of Broker accounts, providing profitable growth in sales and income. This will require participation in managing JLM's overall performance and adherence to corporate standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the expansion of the broker network by identifying potential Brokers for growth, including existing contacts and researching the current marketplace.
  • Market JLM products and services to potential brokers, including arranging and conducting meetings and performing sales presentations that highlight the benefits of JLM and its services.
  • Extract key information from brokers on the nature of their existing business, their turnover, and any other relevant information.
  • Report to the Head of Broker Support on the progress of broker visits and issue 'Broker Visit Reports' in a timely manner.
  • Maintain contact with brokers throughout the application process and act as a referral point for any issues that arise, liaising with the Agency Department to ensure these are promptly resolved.
  • Identify areas of growth with brokers and, where applicable, set up schemes to target this growth.
  • Keep abreast of competition in the market and ensure the Head of Broker Support and Heads remain fully informed.

About You

As our BDM, you will have a strong teamwork ethic, communication and collaborative skills with a keen eye for detail. You will have a proactive, can-do mindset with a willingness to learn, and you will naturally be curious, seeking to understand how things work and where improvements can be made. You will also be or have:

  • Insurance background (ideally with London Markets & Commercial experience).
  • Experience of working in a similar role.
  • Proven experience/confidence at networking.
  • Research and strategy planning experience.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing/persuasive skills.
  • Strong customer service focus & stakeholder management.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task, updating relevant systems where necessary.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Cert CII) or working towards.
  • Acturis experience (ideally).
