We’re now looking for a motivated Sales Development Specialist to join us at the Jensten Group. You’ll ideally be based near our Cheadle Hulme or Watnall office (with hybrid working options) – but we will also consider remote working for the right person. Reporting to the Head of Health & Protection, the main purpose of the role is to proactively identify, research, and engage with Employee Benefits prospects, supporting the growth of the business through high-quality lead generation, which our Exec’s/ Consultants will hopefully convert.

  • Drive targeted generation of new business leads.
  • Conduct outbound calls to prospects, qualifying leads and booking appointments.
  • Collaborate closely with Exec's/ Consultants and attend regular sales and pipeline meetings to align priorities and share insights.
  • Use CRM (Acturis) to record all prospecting activity and maintain accurate opportunity data.
  • Monitor and report on call activity.
  • Encourage and support all staff in identifying potential leads for follow‑up, subsequently researching and obtaining renewal dates and adding to the pipeline.
  • Maintain and update opportunity pipeline in offices to track prospecting progress and team contributions.
  • Deliver weekly reports on lead generation activity, including: number of calls made, leads generated, appointments booked, and conversion rates.

To ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA.

About You

  • Insurance background preferred (Employee Benefits/ Commercial ideally).
  • Previous experience in a sales/ new business generation type role (essential).
  • Great customer service & sales skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner, being able to network & build working relationships easily.
  • Drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within Insurance.
  • Able to use initiative and can multi‑task, updating relevant systems and admin.
