One Broker (part of the Jensten Group) is pleased to be recruiting an Account Handler to join our Colchester office. This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for someone with insurance experience to become a Commercial Account Handler and develop their career as part of a successful broker. While Jensten recently celebrated reaching 1000 employees, our Colchester office comprises a friendly team of over 60 people. You will be working in our Charities team, which includes 11 colleagues, offering policies with exclusive terms to over 2000 charities, not-for-profit, and voluntary organizations.
Initially, the role is based on 5 days in the Colchester office, with a blend of office and home working available after probation. Free car parking is provided at the office.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support for Account Executives, including obtaining new business quotations and arranging cover, checking policy documentation for accuracy, and liaising with clients and insurers.
- Processing mid-term adjustments and quarterly declarations.
- Handling clients’ daily inquiries promptly and managing expectations.
- Referring technical queries to relevant Account Executives, Broking Technicians, and Directors.
- Negotiating and inviting renewal of assigned client policies.
- Maintaining accurate client records reflecting current risks, sums insured, perils, excesses, extensions, and exclusions.
- Cross-selling and up-selling policies.
- Liaising with Claims Handlers regarding claims queries and reports.
About You
As a Commercial Account Handler, you will have prior insurance knowledge and excellent client service skills. You should have strong diary management, planning, and organizational skills, and be able to work to deadlines. Teamwork is essential, as you will collaborate closely with colleagues to service a range of policies.
Other skills/requirements include:
- Strong customer service skills within an insurance setting.
- CII qualifications or a desire to work towards them (not essential).
- Experience with Acturis (advantageous).
