Our client is an amazing, established Children's Hospice that helps families by providing specialist nursing care and emotional support in a warm and loving environment when times are tough. They are seeking an experienced and motivated Community Fundraising Manager, or experienced Executive looking to progress into a management role, to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Public Fundraising, this role will focus on supporting the delivery and development of the hospice's community fundraising programme, maintaining strong relationships with supporters, and helping to grow income from local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the hospice's community fundraising programme and associated income targets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, schools, clubs, and local businesses.
  • Identify opportunities to grow income through community partnerships and supporter-led fundraising.
  • Represent the hospice at community events, fundraising activities, and local meetings.
  • Provide excellent stewardship to community supporters, fundraisers, and volunteers.
  • Offer guidance, resources, and encouragement to individuals and groups organising fundraising activities.
  • Ensure supporters feel valued and connected to the impact of their fundraising.
  • Support the development of new community fundraising opportunities and initiatives particularly across our new geographic catchment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the fundraising team to maximise supporter engagement.
  • Contribute ideas and insight to help strengthen the community fundraising programme.
  • Maintain accurate records of supporter engagement and fundraising income using the hospice CRM system (Raiser's Edge).
  • Monitor community fundraising activity and contribute to reporting processes.
  • Support the planning and coordination of campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation, guidance, and hospice policies.
  • Maintain high standards of supporter care and data management.

General Requirements:

  • To work collaboratively with colleagues within the Income Generation & Marketing team and across the organisation.
  • To co-operate with all staff in maintaining good relationships with outside agencies and the general public in order to uphold the Charity's image and win increased support for its work.
  • To maintain confidentiality in all areas of work at charity.
  • To ensure that your conduct within and outside the charity does not conflict with professional expectations.
  • To take responsibility for your continuing professional development.
  • To co-operate with all staff in maintaining harmonious inter-personal relationships.
  • To attend staff meetings and training as required.
  • To ensure the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of clients.

Experience Required:

Essential:
  • Experience in community fundraising or a relationship-based income generation role.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident in public speaking and able to present to an audience.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities.
  • Excellent IT and Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of community fundraising methods and supporter stewardship.
  • Experience working in the charity or hospice sector.
  • Experience of using Raiser's Edge database.
  • Knowledge of the Institute of Fundraising's Codes of Conduct.
