Jenson Fisher are delighted to be retained by our client, a successful and growing SME based in Glenrothes, to recruit a Head of Finance. This is a unique opportunity to join an established, multi-national business with a Β£10m turnover and play a pivotal role in its future development and success.
As Head of Finance, you will work closely with the Managing Director as a key figure within the senior leadership team, taking full ownership of the finance function and providing strategic insight to support business growth. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially-minded finance professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to lead a small finance team through a period of business change.
The responsibilities of the Head of Finance will include:
- Lead the day-to-day finance operations, including month-end and year-end reporting.
- Preparation of management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis.
- Provide financial insight to support strategic planning and commercial decision-making.
- Manage the audit process and maintain strong internal controls.
- Oversee payroll, VAT returns, and statutory compliance.
- Work closely with operational teams to drive performance and profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
In addition, you will be:
- A fully qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA).
- In possession of proven experience in a similar lead finance role, critically involved within an SME environment.
- Strong technically with a commercial mindset.
- An excellent communicator with first class stakeholder management abilities.
- Proactive with a hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
