Jenson Fisher Consulting are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and highly reputable organisation based in Dundee to recruit an experienced and motivated Credit Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of the credit control function, whilst contributing to the wider success of the finance department.
The Role
Reporting directly into senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of accounts receivable and the timely collection of outstanding debt. You will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, reducing aged debt, and supporting the business in maintaining a healthy cash flow position. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who combines strong financial acumen with excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the credit control process across a diverse customer ledger
- Proactively chasing outstanding invoices via telephone, email, and formal correspondence
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients to facilitate timely payments
- Investigating and resolving invoice queries efficiently, liaising with internal departments where required
- Accurate allocation of incoming payments and reconciliation of customer accounts
- Production and analysis of aged debt reports, highlighting risk and recommending action
- Escalating problematic accounts and implementing appropriate credit control procedures
- Supporting month-end close processes and contributing to financial reporting
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of credit control processes and systems
About You
- Proven experience within a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
- Strong track record of reducing aged debt and improving collection performance
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting/ERP systems
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
