Our client is a specialist ‘whole of market’ financial planning firm providing independent financial planning advice to individuals, families, companies and trusts. They have been established to provide a highly personalised financial planning service.
They now require a Part-Qualified or Qualified Paraplanner to join the firm, where you will have full autonomy. You will support the financial advisers and other back office team by handling administrative tasks and report writing/paraplanning tasks such as cashflow analysis and comparing and evaluating financial products and investment solutions.
You would be expected to work to strict deadlines to ensure the suitability reports and all tasks are completed within their expected timeframes, which ensures the advisers can continue to provide their clients with a valuable service.
Key Responsibilities- Discuss and prioritise client objectives with the Financial Advisers, then take ownership of a case and prepare an accurate suitability report reflecting these objectives.
- Check that we have up-to-date client information before report requests are submitted to the paraplanner queue.
- Check the client’s attitude to risk using the Finametrica system and evaluate whether their existing investment solutions remain suitable to meet their objectives.
- Carry out technical research on existing and newly recommended financial products to provide meaningful comparisons for the advisers.
- Produce illustrations from relevant provider websites and platforms.
- Complete IHT calculations where appropriate.
- Ensure all relevant compliance, internal business documents, and provider documents have been completed and saved on SharePoint and Intelligent Office.
- Prepare suitability reports, including cashflow forecasts for various advice areas including investment planning, pension planning, mortgage planning, IHT planning, and protection planning.
- Work with the admin team and advisers to ensure reports are issued to clients in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all plans and fees on Intelligent Office are kept up to date with current valuations.
- Produce MI reports for the senior management team when requested.

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a paraplanner preferred.
- Working towards Diploma in Financial Planning qualification preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial products, tax, pensions, and investment strategies.
- Working knowledge of systems such as Intelligent Office, Genovo, Finametrica, Cash Calc is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience using provider websites and platforms such as Transact, Royal London, Aviva, Prudential, AJ Bell, and Aegon.
This is a full-time hybrid role working 3-4 days out of the office in Tring and 1-2 days a week working from home (once probation has been passed).
