Based in Glasgow, our client operates across a diverse portfolio of commercial activities and is looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to support the wider finance team within a fast-paced environment.

The Finance Assistant will report directly into the Finance Manager and will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day transactional finance operations of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring financial information is processed accurately and in a timely manner, while also assisting with month-end duties and contributing to ongoing process improvements within the department.

As the successful candidate, you will have previous experience within a finance or accounts environment and be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices, matching, batching and coding accurately.
  • Assisting with payment runs and supplier statement reconciliations.

  • Assisting with ad-hoc finance administration tasks as required by the Finance Manager.

The Finance Assistant will ideally have previous experience in a similar role and may be studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA, although this is not essential. Strong IT skills including familiarity with Excel are required, and experience of working with accounting software would be advantageous. This role will suit an individual who is proactive, reliable and enthusiastic, with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a supportive and professional finance environment over the course of the 6 month contract.
