Jenson Fisher are delighted to be working in partnership with our long standing, multi-national client based in Dundee to recruit a Part-Time Purchase Ledger Assistant on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable professional looking for a permanent part-time position within a friendly and established finance team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently and that suppliers are paid within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching invoices against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Coding and posting invoices to the relevant nominal accounts
- Preparing supplier payment runs
- Maintaining accurate supplier account records
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
- Dealing with supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
- Assisting with payment queries and resolving invoice issues
- Ensuring invoices are appropriately authorised before payment
- Supporting month-end procedures and purchase ledger reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date finance records
- Assisting the wider finance team with general accounting and administrative duties as required
About You:
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who has previous exposure to Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or a similar transactional finance environment.
You will be organised, methodical and comfortable working with a high level of accuracy. As this is a part-time role, it would particularly suit someone looking for greater flexibility while continuing to utilise their finance experience.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Confidence dealing with suppliers and resolving queries
- Good Excel and IT skills
- Experience of working with finance/accounting systems
- A proactive and reliable approach to their work
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider finance team
