Job Overview

Jensen Hughes are seeking an accomplished Associate to join our growing fire engineering team in London.

This is a leadership role that combines technical excellence, business development, people management, and client engagement.

As an Associate, you will be responsible for leading major projects, managing key client relationships, supporting business growth, and mentoring a high-performing team of fire engineers.

Working closely with Directors and senior stakeholders, you will help shape the future direction of the fire engineering practice while delivering innovative and compliant fire safety solutions across a diverse range of sectors.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal Fire Engineer seeking career progression or an established Associate looking to make a greater impact within a leading consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex fire engineering projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance of fire strategies, engineering reports, and design solutions.
  • Develop innovative, performance-based fire engineering solutions for challenging projects.
  • Act as a technical authority on UK fire safety legislation, Building Regulations, and industry best practice.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead proposal preparation, fee submissions, and bid responses.
  • Contribute to market strategy and support the growth objectives of the fire engineering business.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fire engineers.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Ideally be Chartered or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
  • Significant experience within a fire engineering consultancy environment.
  • Experience leading, managing, and developing technical teams.
