What will you be working on?
As a Graduate Fire Engineer, you’ll work on a variety ofexciting projects, helping to develop innovative fire engineering solutions fornew and existing buildings.
Your work will include:
- Carrying out fire engineering analysis on a
range of new and existing building projects. - Working across a diverse range of buildings,
including high-rise office buildings, large retail complexes and airport
developments, each presenting its own unique challenges. - Analysing fire growth, means of escape,
structural fire resistance and smoke control using a variety of methods,
including computer modelling software such as Computational Fluid Dynamics. - Preparing technical reports and liaising with
clients, including some of the largest building developers in the country.
Requirements and Qualifications
To set you up for success in the role, you’ll need:
- Right to work in the UK or Ireland.
- A Master’s degree, achieved within the last two
years or expected, in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or Physics. - Exceptional written and verbal communication
skills in English. - Additional qualifications and experience
The following would also help you succeed in the role:
- A team player who can work effectively with
colleagues at all levels. - Excellent communication and time management
skills. - A second European language is an advantage but
not essential.
We’ve successfully welcomed Graduate Fire Engineers from avariety of STEM Master’s backgrounds, including Mechanical Engineering,Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering and Physics. Many of these individuals havegone on to build outstanding careers with us.
