As the Reliable Shift Engineer, you are the backbone of high-speed FMCG production site, where every minute of downtime has a direct operational and commercial impact. This is a hands-on role within a high-volume manufacturing environment, working on a rotating continental shift pattern. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of production and packaging equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining, fault-finding, and optimising high-speed production and packaging machinery
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
- Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns to support production targets
- Driving continuous improvement to improve efficiency and reliability
The Successful Reliable Shift Engineer:
- Experience within an FMCG, food, beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environment or general manufacturing
- An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- Good working knowledge of PLCs, automation, conveyors, and packaging lines
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- A proactive, team-focused approach with a strong safety mindset
