Are you an experienced Quality Engineer from a metal fabrication and/or welding background? This role is ideal for an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys working hands-on in a manufacturing environment. You will be involved in day-to-day quality activities, dealing with customer and internal issues and helping to keep quality systems running smoothly.
The Role:
- Read and understand engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Carry out inspections using callipers, micrometres, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Use automotive quality tools such as PPAP, MSA, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, and APQP
- Investigate quality problems and complete 8D reports
- Deal with customer complaints and internal quality issues
- Support ISO 9001 and general quality system activities
- Create basic reports and work with data using Microsoft Office
Suitable Candidate:
- Experience in welding or fabrication (CSWIP 3.0/3.1 is a bonus)
- Skilled with measuring and inspection tools
- Experience with calibration systems
- Knowledge of compliance systems like IMDS
- Understanding of IATF 16949 or internal audits
Qualifications & Experience:
- HNC or higher in engineering (preferred)
- 3 years in a Quality Engineer or Quality Technician role
- CSWIP 3.0/3.1 certification is a plus
