We are currently recruiting for an experienced Days Engineering Team Leader to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Banbury. This is a hands-on leadership role, split between practical engineering work and office-based responsibilities, supporting the engineering team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of engineers on days
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns
  • Provide hands-on mechanical and/or electrical maintenance support
  • Plan and prioritise daily engineering activities
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and engineering standards
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Complete reports, maintenance records, and shift handovers

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Team Leader / Senior Engineer within food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Strong mechanical or electrical background (dual-skilled advantageous)
  • Experience with PPM systems and breakdown diagnostics
  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent)
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on engineering and office-based duties
  • Good leadership, communication, and organisational skills
