Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Shifts: Weekly Rotation - Days: 05:30 - 13:30 (Monday to Friday), Afternoons: 13:30 - 21:30 (Monday to Friday), Nights: 21:30 - 05:30 (Monday to Thursday only)

Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take on a new challenge within a fast-paced packaging environment? Our client in Abercarn is seeking a skilled engineer to support their busy production operation. Working with cardboard-based packaging machinery, you'll be responsible for keeping production lines running smoothly through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all equipment
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed and maintained
  • Work with boilers and steam systems as part of daily operations
  • Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Support continuous improvement and safe working practices on site
What We're Looking For:
  • Strong multi-skilled background with both electrical and mechanical experience
  • Experience working in packaging or similar fast-paced manufacturing environments (ideally with cardboard)
  • Familiarity with steam boilers and boiler systems
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • A proactive, safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work well under pressure
