Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take on a new challenge within a fast-paced packaging environment? Our client in Abercarn is seeking a skilled engineer to support their busy production operation. Working with cardboard-based packaging machinery, you'll be responsible for keeping production lines running smoothly through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all equipment
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed and maintained
- Work with boilers and steam systems as part of daily operations
- Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems
- Support continuous improvement and safe working practices on site
- Strong multi-skilled background with both electrical and mechanical experience
- Experience working in packaging or similar fast-paced manufacturing environments (ideally with cardboard)
- Familiarity with steam boilers and boiler systems
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- A proactive, safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work well under pressure
