About the Role
We are a successful and growing property business seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team on a part time basis, this role will be onsite in the Radlett Office. This is a hands on role that would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, working autonomously and making a meaningful contribution to the success of the business. We are looking for an individual who can quickly become a trusted member of the team, bringing strong accounting knowledge and a proactive approach from day one. The role offers excellent flexibility while providing exposure to a varied workload across multiple entities within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for 13 legal entities, including consolidations where required
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss reports
- Preparation and posting of month end and year end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Processing weekly and ad hoc sales invoices
- Processing supplier and subcontractor invoices
- Performing bank reconciliations, including multi currency accounts
- Preparation of key monthly flash reports and management information
- Producing regular and ad hoc reporting to support business decision making
- Preparation of audit files and liaison with external accountants
- Preparation and submission of VAT, CIS, PAYE, P11D and other statutory returns
- Assisting with debtor and creditor management
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and financial controls
- Performing financial analysis across multiple entities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced accounting professional who is confident working independently and capable of managing a varied workload in a fast paced environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous accounting experience within a busy SME environment
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience using accounting software, ideally Sage line 50
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to support the wider business
- Actively studying or QBE / non studier is fine
Desirable
- Experience within the property or construction sector
- Experience working across multiple legal entities
