An experienced Nursery Cook is being sought at our Nursery in High Barnet. We are looking for a skilled Cook to join our team in creating delicious culinary experiences for our children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, a good awareness of nutrition, healthy eating and ensuring high standards of food safety.
The role is based on a 38 hr working week Monday to Friday with salary c£28k depending on experience, together with loads of great benefits. Good transport links to this nursery. The Hyde Nursery is part of the CC Nurseries Group, and is based in High Barnet, in the beautiful Iconic Hyde Institute building. Registered for 88 children, our lovely setting is minutes away from lovely green spaces which the Nursery takes full advantage of whatever the weather, together with having access through the nursery to free flow into their lovely outdoor gardens.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role;
- Food & Hygiene Level Certificate Level 3 (or at least a level 2);
- Proven experience as a Chef;
- Cooking and preparing meals for 70 children;
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and culinary techniques;
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team;
- Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control;
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels effectively.
