Job Description

You will be a senior practitioner and account leader for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) across Jellyfish’s EMEA business and a portfolio of Tier 1 accounts, sitting within the Media team and reporting to the GEO Lead in EMEA.

You will work closely with fellow GEO practitioners, sharing techniques and case studies.

You will bring methodology, codification and capability standards to life with clients, and translate the global GEO codex into EMEA market reality, including the fragmented search landscape across the region (Google, Chat GPT Search, Claude, Gemini and market-specific search engines) for the CPG, retail and financial services concentration of the EMEA portfolio.

The majority of your time will be spent in front of clients, deepening GEO maturity across the accounts you own and delivering retained work to the standard our top clients demand.

The remainder is spent on new business: bringing Share of Model™ diagnostics into pitches, carrying the GEO commercial narrative, and converting opportunity into retained revenue.

Responsibilities

  • 75% will be Client Work
  • Senior GEO partner to a portfolio of Jellyfish’s Tier 1 EMEA accounts, running the strategic conversation with CMOs, brand leads and search leaders.
  • Move clients from AI curiosity to AI maturity the headline KPI of the role.

Measured on how many of the EMEA accounts in your portfolio move along that maturity curve, and how fast.

  • Drive adoption of advanced GEO practices inside the accounts you own, taking the latest techniques out of test and into committed retained work.

Achieve measurable commercial and business success through best practices in SEO, GEO and Search.

  • Architect retained GEO engagements spanning content authority, technical site and structured data, entity reinforcement, AI training-signal optimisation, agentic readiness and ongoing measurement.
  • Own the GEO QBR narrative for major retained accounts. Lead annual planning conversations on GEO’s contribution to growth, citation lift and agentic readiness.
  • Diagnose AI-mediated search risk across the accounts you own: AI Overviews, Chat GPT Search, Claude, Gemini, zero-click surfaces, and the fragmentation of traditional search signals across a widening set of AI-driven discovery engines.
  • Coach senior client-facing teams (account directors, strategy directors, retail media leads) on how to position GEO inside their day-to-day client conversations.
  • EMEA voice into global product Share of Model™ and Pencil Pro feature priorities, signal definitions, regional benchmarks and edge-case feedback fed back to the GEO Lead, EMEA and the Product team.
  • Surface regional learnings into the global codex experiments, case studies, automation hooks and edge cases that update the practice for every market, not just EMEA.
  • The other 25% will be dedicated to new business
  • Support GEO inside EMEA new business pitches bringing Share of Model™ diagnostics into pitches, shaping the GEO commercial narrative, and converting opportunity into retained revenue.
  • Contribute to the EMEA industry voice in service of new business and category leadership: IAB Europe, SMX London, DMEXCO, Brighton SEO, AI marketing summits, and the strategic PR moments that shape how Jellyfish is perceived in the region.
  • Secure EMEA platform alpha and beta access through direct relationships with Open AI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft and Amazon AGI / Rufus teams, converting access into client advantage faster than the market can reach for it.

Qualifications

  • You are an experienced senior practitioner, most likely with over 6 years in SEO, search strategy or digital media, including direct work in AI-influenced search environments and at least one major EMEA enterprise account.
  • You translate model behaviour and citation analysis into business consequences without sliding into jargon. You are credible with senior marketing stakeholders.
  • You understand how knowledge graphs, structured data, embeddings, retrieval systems and training signals actually work, and you can spot weak strategies.
  • You have a track record of converting AI capability into retained revenue.
  • You understand the fragmented, multi-market EMEA search landscape, the regulatory backdrop, and how AI-mediated discovery is playing out differently across CPG, retail, financial services and tech.
  • You share what you learn, raise the bar for the practitioners around you, and make it easy for colleagues across accounts to get GEO right.

Note: We emphasise skills, expertise and behavioural attributes over years of experience and traditional degrees.
