Job Description
At Jellyfish, we believe in the power of diverse perspectives and inclusive collaboration.
We welcome individuals who excel in collaborative, varied teams and value the unique contributions that each person brings to the table.
Jellyfish is a global digital marketing agency; a unique fusion of tech enthusiasts, creative minds, and media and data experts all united to empower our clients along their digital journey.
Our commitment to embracing diverse perspectives fuels our innovation and strategies that challenge the status quo, reinvent media activation, and craft influential stories for our global clients and their customers.
Join us in shaping a future where business growth and personal fulfilment go hand in hand.
We are looking for a UK-based Senior SEO Content Manager to lead content-led SEO strategy and delivery for major UK and international clients.
The role combines strategic client leadership with hands-on content SEO expertise: shaping the roadmap, setting priorities, translating strategy into clear briefs, coordinating delivery and assuring the quality of the work that reaches the client.
You will be comfortable operating across complex accounts with multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
You will bring structure to competing priorities, challenge briefs or requests where needed, and help content, SEO, creative, technical and client teams deliver joined-up work.
You will also be able to step into audits, research, optimisation, briefing, editing and copywriting when the work requires it.
- Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Lead content-led SEO strategies and roadmaps aligned with client objectives, audience needs and commercial priorities.
- Act as a trusted senior contact for clients, turning complex search and content insight into clear recommendations, decisions and next steps.
- Set priorities across multiple content workstreams, providing constructive challenge and pushback when requests, timings or scope create delivery risk.
- Translate strategy into practical delivery plans, briefs and workflows, coordinating internal specialists, client teams, writers, freelancers and external partners.
- Lead content audits, keyword and topic research, competitor analysis, content-gap analysis and on-page optimisation.
- Shape editorial and e-commerce content programmes, including category and product landing pages, evergreen content, campaign content and localisation.
- Review and quality-assure briefs, copy and recommendations so outputs are accurate, useful, on-brand and optimised for search.
- Define content measurement frameworks and use performance data to improve priorities, recommendations and future activity.
- Work closely with technical SEO, digital PR, data, creative, media and client teams to make content SEO part of an integrated marketing approach.
- Apply AI-enabled workflows responsibly to research, briefing, optimisation and quality assurance, while maintaining strong editorial judgement.
- Stay current on UK search behaviour, Google developments, AI-led discovery and generative search, translating change into practical client action.
- Mentor managers and junior team members, raise delivery standards and contribute to the development of Jellyfish content SEO products and ways of working.
Skills & Competencies
- Content SEO expertise: A strong record of building and delivering content strategies that improve organic performance.
- Client leadership: Confidence leading senior conversations, presenting recommendations and managing complex stakeholder expectations.
- Editorial judgement: Excellent writing, editing and briefing skills, with a clear understanding of brand voice, audience value and search intent.
- On-page SEO: Deep knowledge of keyword targeting, metadata, headings, internal linking, information architecture and content quality.
- Strategic thinking: The ability to connect SEO activity to wider marketing and business goals rather than treating content as a standalone output.
- Delivery leadership: Strong prioritisation, planning and coordination skills across concurrent accounts and workstreams.
- Data-led decision-making: The ability to interpret performance data, identify the real issue and recommend a proportionate response.
- Collaboration: A practical, low-ego approach to working across disciplines, markets and levels of seniority.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in SEO content strategy and delivery, ideally in an agency or similarly fast-moving, multi-client environment.
- Experience working with large UK brands and complex websites; e-commerce experience is strongly preferred.
- Evidence of owning client-facing content programmes from strategic recommendation through to implementation and measurement.
- Strong working knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console and enterprise SEO or keyword research platforms.
- Advanced ability with Excel or Google Sheets, and confidence using AI tools to analyse information and improve content workflows.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, including the ability to create clear, persuasive slides for senior audiences.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with a detailed understanding of UK language, culture and search behaviour.
- A sound understanding of technical SEO fundamentals and how content SEO connects with digital PR, UX, conversion, creative and wider media activity.
- Additional Information
Join Jellyfish and experience a workplace where we prioritise your growth, celebrate your contributions, and empower you to tailor your work environment to suit your needs.
- Custom Work Environment: Work remotely for up to 60% of your days and shape your day between 8am and 6:30pm with flexible working hours.
- Family
Support: Enjoy 14 weeks of paid leave for primary caregivers and 4 weeks of paid leave for secondary caregivers.
We also provide £1000 (or equivalent) towards ourses for returning primary caregivers to support your transition back into work.
