Job Description

As a Senior Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and managing the design process on client projects, ensuring briefs are accurately understood and executed.

Working closely with your Project Manager and Senior Design Capability Support, you'll help streamline workflows and elevate the quality of the design work produced.

This role provides the opportunity to contribute to both the creation of impactful assets and the development of the design community at Jellyfish, all while focusing on continuous growth and excellence.

You’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality design assets, including static and animated digital content for social media, and will have the opportunity to foster innovation within a global team.

By embracing both creative and technical processes, you’ll help ensure smooth project onboarding and contribute to the team’s overall success.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage the AI platform Pencil Pro, enhancing your design process and helping to generate even more effective, data-driven creative assets.

The salary range for this position is between £50,000-60,000 GBP, annually, and final offer is based upon experience. This is a hybrid position based out of our London office.

Responsibilities

  • Create a diverse range of digital and print design assets, focusing on social media content, including both static and animated designs.
  • Utilize design software like Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) to produce high-quality assets.
  • Understand and apply interactive design principles, ensuring engaging and user-friendly outcomes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Motion Graphics and Video Editing, utilizing tools such as Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Leverage knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Java Script to effectively communicate with development teams and understand technical possibilities.
  • Stay current with the latest digital design trends, AI tools like Chat GPT, and integrate them into your design process to enhance creative output.
  • Leverage the AI platform Pencil Pro to streamline your creative workflow, generating optimized designs based on data and client insights.
  • Align closely with Project Managers and the creative team to promptly receive and develop project briefs.
  • Actively participate in project kick-off meetings and review all relevant project materials to ensure understanding of scope and objectives.
  • Understand project timelines and deadlines, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Interrogate briefs and ask for clarification on any required materials or project details to avoid miscommunication.
  • Ensure project scope, role, and hours are well-understood and accurately tracked in Financial Force.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach by asking questions and seeking clarification when necessary.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings, maintaining clear communication with team members and clients.
  • Respond to feedback and concerns from clients and colleagues in a professional, constructive manner.
  • Participate in collaborative activities and communication channels with the broader project and capability teams.

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • 5+ of experience in a senior design role, preferably within an agency or similar environment.
  • Ability to follow design processes, confidentiality protocols, and file organization standards.
  • Strong innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, contributing valuable insights during brainstorming sessions.
  • Expertise in design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, In Design Illustrator and After Effects).
  • Solid understanding of design principles and typography, with the ability to create effective layouts, ensuring sharp attention to detail across various channels.
  • Knowledgeable about digital design principles and how to apply them across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Familiar with brand guidelines and experienced in adapting them across various projects.
  • Strong ability to combine speed and technique to produce high-quality assets efficiently, even at scale.
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to contribute strategically and think outside the box.
  • Skilled in quality control (QC) for your own work and understanding project workflows to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques, and emerging technologies.
  • Able to export and optimize assets to meet platform specifications and best practices, ensuring file size and naming conventions are followed.
  • Capable of annotating files and providing supporting documentation when necessary.
  • Unafraid to raise concerns and suggest improvements to the team, particularly if issues arise during the project or process
