Jelly Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturer near Bath for an experienced Supplier Technologist to support the Technical Team, acting as the key link between the business and its suppliers. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility alongside hands-on technical involvement within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

As a Supplier Technologist your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing supplier approval processes and maintaining the approved supplier list.
- Reviewing and approving raw material and packaging specifications.
- Ensuring suppliers meet food safety, quality, legality and customer requirements.
- Conducting supplier risk assessments and supporting vulnerability & traceability processes.
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve technical queries, non-conformance and performance issues.
- Supporting supplier audits and reviewing supplier documentation (HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, certifications).
- Working cross-functionally with NPD, Technical and Procurement teams on new raw material launches.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
What You'll Bring:
- Experienced in a technical role within food manufacturing: with a focus on product specifications & supplier approval.
- Ideally degree educated in a relevant subject such as Food Science or Food Technology.
- Strong understanding of food safety legislation, supplier assurance, and retailer/customer standards.
- Experience managing specifications and supplier documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Confident communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Experience across chilled, ambient, or short shelf-life products would be advantageous.
- A willingness to travel as the role will include occasional supplier visits.
- UK driving licence and valid passport.
