About the Role: We are seeking a reliable and practical Mechanical Operative to assist with an industrial strip-out and decommissioning project in Birmingham. This hands-on role involves dismantling production equipment, clearing pipework and safely moving heavy components across the site. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled operative with a background in basic mechanics, plumbing or site strip-outs who holds a valid forklift licence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machinery Disassembly: Safely dismantling production machinery and factory equipment using standard hand and power tools.
- Pipework Strip-Out: Removing and isolating basic pipework and mechanical fixtures.
- FLT Operation: Operating a Forklift Truck to safely move dismantled machinery, parts and materials around the site.
- Site Clearance: Assisting with general site clearance, sorting salvaged materials and ensuring a safe working environment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Mechanical/Plumbing Skills: Proven experience with basic plumbing, mechanical fitting, assembly or industrial dismantling.
- FLT Licence: Must hold a valid, accredited FLT licence (e.g., Counterbalance).
- Tools Experience: Confident and safe use of hand tools, spanners and wrenches.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, good physical fitness for lifting, and a safety-conscious attitude.
