Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager to lead our fantastic Penrith team and oversee all aspects of production.
JELD-WEN, Penrith is currently undergoing a significant transformation – including site investment and an increase in production lines.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior leadership opportunity where you’ll drive change, lead growth, driving continuous improvement, and building a strong culture of safety, performance, and accountability. Reporting to the Operations Director, this critical role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership and delivers results.
What impact you will make:
• Champion the JELD-WEN Values: ethical business practices, investment in people, customer innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead all production activities, coordinate resources, and implement controls to meet business targets.
• Own and manage plant financials, including detailed budgeting, forecasting, and delivering on EBIT commitments.
• Drive SQDCIP manufacturing excellence and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Achieve cost reduction targets through team engagement and effective project leadership.
• Inspire and mentor your team, build engagement, and develop future leaders.
What you’ll need to succeed:
• Proven experience in plant leadership or operations management.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to translate insights into business decisions.
• A commitment to Safety First culture and zero-tolerance safety mindset.
• Experience working within Quality Management Systems.
• Background in medium to large manufacturing environments (desirable but not essential).
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams.
• Familiarity with Lean tools such as 5S, standard work, mistake-proofing, TPM, and value stream mapping.
• Experience with SQDCIP or similar production management systems (desirable).
• Previous experience in a Trade Union environment.
