A fast‑growing London Market insurance and reinsurance broker is seeking a senior Development Manager / Technology Delivery Lead to play a central role in how technology is used to transform complex, large‑scale broking. The business specialises in high‑value, complex risks across areas such as aviation, property/casualty and reinsurance. Technology is not a support function here - it is core to competitive advantage. This role sits at the heart of that ambition.

The business now needs someone tech‑agnostic, commercially minded, and comfortable leading multiple streams of technical delivery in an environment that is increasingly shaped by AI and emerging technologies.

You'll operate at Development Manager level, owning delivery across a mixed internal and external engineering landscape. Your remit will span Salesforce teams, data and integration work, and newer AI‑driven initiatives - ensuring consistent quality, pace and alignment with business priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and coordinating internal and third‑party development teams across multiple platforms
  • Owning end‑to‑end delivery of technology initiatives, from concept through to production
  • Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Driving modern engineering practices, tooling and ways of working
  • Supporting the evolution of AI‑enabled development approaches across the organisation
  • Ensuring systems remain scalable, secure and fit for a highly regulated insurance environment

This is not a "Head of Data" or purely architectural role - it is hands‑on leadership, delivery ownership, and problem‑solving at pace.

What We're Looking For:

You'll be someone who thrives in high‑standards, growth‑oriented environments and is motivated by using technology to genuinely change how a business operates.

Experience & background:

  • Proven experience as a Development Manager, Technology Manager, Head of Systems, or similar
  • Strong background in insurance or financial services (London Market experience is a plus)
  • Experience managing both internal engineers and external delivery partners
  • Tech‑agnostic mindset, with the ability to assess and apply the right tools for the job

Technical & emerging tech exposure:

  • Cloud experience, with GCP strongly preferred
  • Salesforce experience is beneficial, but not essential
  • Exposure to AI‑enabled development workflows, such as:
    • Prompt engineering
    • AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude or similar)
    • "Vibe coding" / rapid prototyping approaches

Personal attributes:

  • Commercially aware and delivery‑focused
  • Comfortable working in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments
  • High standards, high integrity, and strong cultural alignment
  • Confident influencing at senior stakeholder level

Why Apply?

  • A genuine opportunity to shape how technology is used within the London Market
  • Significant autonomy and influence in a business that backs innovation
  • Exposure to cutting‑edge AI initiatives alongside core enterprise platforms
  • Competitive senior‑level compensation and bonus structure
  • A collaborative, ambitious culture that expects excellence
