We are working with a large, highly regulated financial organisation that is investing heavily in AI, cloud and next-generation security. They are looking to appoint an AI Security Engineer to help design, deliver and evolve security solutions that protect complex systems and sensitive data at scale. This role sits within a central security function responsible for safeguarding innovation, including GenAI and advanced data platforms and plays a critical part in shaping secure‑by‑design engineering across the business.
The Role
As an AI Security Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and hands‑on engineering across security architecture, cryptography, IAM and cloud‑native platforms. You'll work closely with engineers, data scientists and security stakeholders to embed strong controls while enabling innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a subject matter expert on security engineering patterns and best practice
- Designing and implementing solutions to protect systems, APIs and sensitive data
- Performing security audits, vulnerability assessments and supporting incident response
- Driving the adoption of modern cryptographic technologies and techniques
- Developing, implementing and maintaining Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions
- Ensuring security controls align with regulatory requirements and business objectives
- Influencing stakeholders and contributing to security policy, governance and risk mitigation
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong programming and scripting skills (Python and Bash essential)
- Solid experience with cloud platforms - AWS and/or Azure
- Strong understanding of API development and security
- Experience designing or implementing security controls in complex environments
- Knowledge of, or strong interest in, data science and AI-driven systems
- Comfortable operating in regulated, enterprise‑scale environments
- Able to communicate complex and sensitive technical topics to senior stakeholders
