The Opportunity
Jefferies is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join its growing Financial Restructuring team in London.
The team advises debtors, creditors, shareholders, and sponsors on a wide range of special situations, distressed M&A, liability management exercises, debt restructurings, recapitalisations, refinancing transactions, and formal insolvency processes.
This role is ideally suited to an Analyst with 12-18 months of relevant experience who is looking to accelerate their development in a highly entrepreneurial and execution-focused environment. The successful candidate will gain significant exposure to complex transactions, senior clients, and a broad range of industries across EMEA.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed integrated financial models, including liquidity forecasting, debt capacity analysis, recovery analysis, and restructuring scenarios.
- Perform valuation analyses using DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions, sum-of-the-parts, and distressed valuation methodologies.
- Analyse corporate capital structures and assess refinancing and restructuring alternatives.
- Support the execution of debtor-side and creditor-side restructuring mandates.
- Assist in distressed M&A, debt-for-equity swaps, refinancing transactions, covenant amendments, and capital raises.
- Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, information memoranda, restructuring analyses, and board materials.
- Conduct industry, market, and company-specific research to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
- Coordinate due diligence processes and assist in managing transaction workstreams.
- Work closely with senior bankers, lawyers, accountants, lenders, sponsors, and other stakeholders throughout transaction execution.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
- Minimum 12-18 months of relevant experience within:
- Investment Banking
- Leveraged Finance
- Transaction Services
- Corporate Finance
- Strong accounting and corporate finance knowledge.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
- High level of attention to detail and analytical capability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence and a strong work ethic.
