We are seeking a Real Estate Finance Business Partner to join our dynamic, results-driven team in a fast-paced, global investment bank. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring a final-stage or fully qualified accountant (CIMA preferred or equivalent). The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end financial management of real estate and facilities costs, acting as a critical bridge between the Finance Department and the Corporate Division, and ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting of real estate expenditures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lease Accounting & Cost Management
- Ensure accurate accounting for lease costs, including reconciliation of service charges and CPI increases.
- Manage timely rent payments, liaising with landlords and resolving any queries.
- Monitor and report on real estate financial performance, ensuring alignment with lease agreements.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for real estate and facilities costs.
- Prepare and analyze month-end accruals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide financial insights to senior stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Project & Procurement Management
- Oversee the raising and monitoring of purchase orders (POs), goods receiving POs, and payment approvals.
- Work closely with project teams, quantity surveyors, and project managers to monitor project budgets against actuals.
- Identify and mitigate risks of project overspending, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering
- Act as a liaison between Finance, Real Estate, Facilities, and Corporate Services.
- Partner with non-finance teams, ensuring financial insights are clearly communicated and understood.
- Build strong relationships with landlords, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to optimize financial operations.
Key Requirements
- Qualifications & Experience
- Final-stage or fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accountant.
- Strong experience in real estate finance, facilities management, or corporate services finance.
- Commercial awareness of the real estate sector (banking experience is a plus but not essential).
- Skills & Attributes
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to reconcile complex financial data.
- Highly proficient in Excel (macros not required but strong financial modeling and analysis skills needed).
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented, able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly in working with non-finance teams.
- A proactive, hands-on approach, with a passion for understanding how corporate services functions within a bank.
- Knowledge of Tririga, PeopleSoft and Qlik Sense would be beneficial.
