This Front Office hands-on development role requires skills in an object-oriented language, e.g. C#/.NET or Java. The successful candidate will be part of a wider regional and global team, leading our London, Serbia and Pune resources on existing and new initiatives to strengthen our Derivatives technology on behalf of our growing global Derivatives business. They will have worked on similar roles and platforms in the past and have been personally and deeply involved in the building, enhancement, and support of complex platforms in a fast-paced front office environment. Whilst part of a wider team with a supportive business as our partner, they must be able to work independently, be a self-starter, and seek input at the appropriate times where necessary. Experience working in Equity Derivatives or a closely related area is a definite plus, but the candidate should demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn quickly. You should have experience and understanding of best practices, and hands-on software development across the technology stack.
Key Responsibilities- Own cross-squad delivery planning and sequencing (milestones, critical path, dependency mapping) across London/Serbia/Pune resources
- Drive predictable delivery via release planning, cutover readiness, and change management (incl. go/no-go, comms, rollback) aligned to desk/risk expectations
- Participate in the development and enhancement of C#/.NET / Java front office applications and services adhering to specifications from the business and control functions
- Take functional specifications or business requirements; Design, implement and unit test technical solutions. Establish and run a single "delivery operating cadence": weekly execution review + monthly roadmap/RAID review with stakeholders
- Communicate and collaborate with trading desks, middle office personnel and peer technology teams
- Maintain a consolidated RAID log across initiatives; ensure every item has owner, due date, mitigation, and decision/ask
- Proactively manage cross-team dependencies (data, entitlements, reporting, market data, release windows) and elevate early with options/recommendations
- Facilitate scope definition and written acceptance criteria with Trading/Risk/Control functions; ensure traceability from requirements → delivery → validation/sign-off
- Drive controlled parallel runs / reconciliations where needed with agreed tolerances and sign-off process
- Participate in code reviews in a structured and collaborative way
- Participate in project meetings with management and other team members
- Report on project status and developments to stakeholders
- Provide technical support to stakeholders
- Recent strong experience in an object-oriented language, preferable in C#/.NET or Java
- Relevant experience in Capital markets, strong knowledge and understanding of financial products – ideally including Equity derivatives or a closely related area
- Recent experience working on any RDBMS is essential, e.g. Microsoft SQLServer or MySQL
- Recent experience in real-time or near real-time trading systems
- Recent experience integrating Quant/Analytic libraries
- Recent experience working on OMS, and/or Risk systems
- Ability to write clean, easy to understand code
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
