The Equities business is one of the core elements of the Jefferies franchise. The product control team is a valued stakeholder with trading and involved in the development of new initiatives and business growth. There is direct interaction with the trading desk, business management, new business teams and a range of Operation functions, such as Middle Office, Settlements and Corporate Actions. This will give the candidate an opportunity to be involved in an exciting and complex business area. It will lead to a deep understanding of these structures within the Equities business and client rationale behind them.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily PL Production including:
- Commissions / day 1 Review
- Flash v Actual Analysis
- P&L Commentaries
- FOBO review
- Inventory Reporting
- Clean P&L / attribution
- Process improvement
- Balance Sheet substantiation
- Reconciliation of reported P&L to ledger
- Review / assistance in IPV process
- Management Packs and associated P&L review
- P&L and inventory movement commentaries
Person Specification
- Prior Experience in Product Control – preferably Equities
- Part / Qualified Accountant
- Able to work autonomously
- Analytical / natural attention to detail
- Conscientious, willing to delve into topics to understand how things work
- Uses initiative to identify issues and implement solutions
- Advanced excel knowledge
- Strong team player
- Able to prioritise workload to achieve daily target
- Able to multitask to answer desk and management requests on a timely basis
- Ability to automate and rationalise processes as necessary
