JCP launched its European private credit platform in 2024, Jefferies Credit Partners Europe Limited ("JCP Europe"), and has been scaling rapidly since inception. This is an opportunity to join the platform at an exciting stage of growth and to play a meaningful role in helping build its presence across the UK and Europe.

The Opportunity: JCP Europe is seeking a Senior Associate or VP to join its London-based team and support the continued growth of its private credit platform across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including industry analysis, company assessment and key underwriting workstreams.
  • Own financial analysis and modelling for live opportunities, including leveraged buyout, liquidity and cash flow scenarios, to inform investment recommendations.
  • Drive market and sector analysis to identify thematic opportunities, key risks and relative value across target markets.
  • Prepare and take ownership of screening materials, investment committee memoranda and other decision-support analysis for senior stakeholders.
  • Support origination and relationship development with sponsors, advisers and other market counterparties, including preparing external-facing materials and participating in key discussions.
  • Manage transaction execution workstreams from initial review through closing and funding, coordinating effectively with internal teams and external advisers.
  • Take an active role in portfolio management, including performance monitoring, covenant and amendment work, and ongoing assessment of portfolio company and sector developments.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the build-out of the European platform, including strategic initiatives that support the growth and development of the business.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Open to strong Senior Associate or VP candidates, typically with 5+ years of relevant experience in private credit, leveraged finance and/or investment banking.
  • Relevant experience at a leading private credit platform, bank or advisory firm, with exposure to sponsor-backed or leveraged transactions.
  • Degree educated with a strong record of academic achievement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to contribute in a lean, high-performing team environment.
  • Fluency in German, a Nordic language or Dutch is highly desirable, reflecting the team’s investment coverage across European markets; the role is based in London.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including financial statement analysis, valuation, modelling and commercial assessment.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with strong overall proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively in a dynamic environment.
