Team
The Compensation Controllers team is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting, accounting, and forecasting of the Firm’s Compensation Expenses. The team currently consists of 4 people in Los Angeles, and 2 in New York.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Global Payroll Accountant to join our team to manage various payroll accounting functions including:
- Posting of journals to the ledger as required to complete month end payroll close.
- Substantiation and reconciliation of payroll related balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee pay code creation and general ledger mappings.
- Key point person in consulting with global payroll teams to research discrepancies, implement controls and data flow optimization and improve payroll data integrity.
- Assisting in the preparation of various European regulatory reports related to payroll and compensation.
- Interface with internal and external auditors.
- Assist the team with ad-hoc payroll queries from stakeholders, providing timely and accurate responses (Front Office/HR/Payroll).
- Review and development of existing processes to improve efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing automated solutions.
Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
- Preferred Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) – 5 years post qualified.
- Experience in Financial Services an advantage.
- Detail orientated and accurate approach, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Proficiency in Excel is essential.
- Experience of PeopleSoft an advantage but not essential.
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, with ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience of working in time pressured environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Team-work minded attitude, with willingness to collaborate and support colleagues.
