Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our top‑ranked European Utilities research franchise, covering leading electricity and integrated utility companies at the forefront of the powering AI, energy transition and power system transformation. This role offers meaningful responsibility and visibility, with increasing ownership of stock coverage and thematic research. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior analyst while progressively taking a leading role in company analysis, modelling, written research and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take a leading role in the ongoing coverage of European utility stocks, including full ownership of financial models, forecasts and valuation frameworks.
- Contribute substantively to company‑specific and thematic research, with increasing responsibility for drafting and originating written output.
- Develop deep sector and regulatory expertise across utilities, renewables and power markets, monitoring key industry, policy and macro developments.
- Support client marketing efforts through preparation of high‑quality presentations, investor materials and participation in client meetings and corporate access.
- Act as a key point of contact internally across sales, trading and investment banking to support idea generation and client engagement.
Requirements:
- Strong academic record.
- 3–4 years’ experience in a financial institution, with a background in equity research, valuation, accounting or a related analytical role.
- Proven financial modelling expertise, with the ability to independently build and maintain complex models.
- Demonstrated interest in, or experience covering, utilities, renewables, infrastructure or the energy transition.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear investment messages.
- Confident interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and clients.
