As a Jefferies Analyst / Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) division, you will play a pivotal role in executing strategic transactions for our clients. You will work closely with senior bankers, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate advisory services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex deals, develop financial modeling and analytical skills, and gain exposure to various industries and sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Execution: Assist in the end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including conducting financial analysis, preparing marketing materials, drafting presentations, and managing due diligence processes.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop detailed financial models to evaluate potential transactions, assess valuation scenarios, and analyze the financial impact on clients.
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive industry and market research to identify potential targets, understand industry trends, and assess competitive landscapes.
  • Client Interaction: Interact with clients to understand their strategic objectives, gather relevant information, and support the deal negotiation process.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including investment bankers, lawyers, accountants, and other advisors, to ensure smooth deal execution.
  • Documentation: Assist in the preparation of transaction documentation, including offering memorandums, pitch materials, and deal-related correspondence.
  • Due Diligence: Coordinate due diligence efforts by liaising with internal and external stakeholders, managing data rooms, and facilitating information exchange.
  • Presentation Skills: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to clients, showcasing transaction opportunities, financial analysis, and strategic recommendations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations throughout the deal process.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in investment banking, M&A, corporate finance, or related fields is required. Ideally 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Financial Skills: Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial analysis techniques.
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and derive actionable insights.
