Jefferies Restructuring Team is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Vice President to be based in our London office. A Vice President in Financial Restructuring would work on a variety of transactions within the group, including debtor- and creditor-side restructurings and distressed mergers and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling: Develop detailed financial models to analyze companies’ capital structures, debt capacities, liquidity needs, and potential restructuring alternatives.
- Transaction Support: Assist in executing restructuring transactions, including distressed M&A, debt-for-equity swaps, refinancing, Chapter 11/UK Schemes, and out-of-court workouts.
- Valuation Analysis: Perform various valuation methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis (CCA), precedent transactions, and liquidation valuation.
- Client Presentations: Prepare comprehensive presentations, pitches, and materials for client meetings and negotiations, providing in-depth financial and strategic analysis.
- Industry & Market Research: Conduct market and company-specific research to understand key industry trends and macroeconomic conditions that influence debt markets and restructuring options.
- Due Diligence: Support due diligence efforts by reviewing legal, operational, and financial documentation.
- Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with senior bankers, legal advisors, and restructuring professionals to help execute complex, multi-stakeholder transactions.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients, providing analytical support and ensuring all transaction documentation and communication is accurate and timely.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance; finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in investment banking, restructuring advisory, or a similar financial services role is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet). Understanding of corporate finance principles and capital structure concepts, including debt instruments, insolvency laws, and credit analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear, concise manner. Ability to interact confidently with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
