Jefferies’ Leveraged Finance team is seeking a Vice President to join its London-based platform. The team originates, structures, and executes a broad range of leveraged finance transactions, including leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, recapitalizations, refinancings, and high‑yield capital markets transactions for private equity sponsors and corporate clients across EMEA.

As a VP, you will play a key leadership role in transaction execution, client management, and the development of junior bankers, while contributing to idea generation and ongoing growth of the franchise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day execution of leveraged finance transactions, including LBO financing, acquisition financing, and refinancings.
  • Oversee preparation and review of financing materials, including lender presentations, rating agency materials, offering memoranda, and internal approval documents.
  • Manage financial modelling and capital structure analysis; ensure quality and accuracy across all materials.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, including Q&A with clients, advisors, and internal teams.
  • Drive engagement with loan and bond investors, ratings agencies, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders.
Origination & Client Coverage
  • Support senior bankers in the origination of new leveraged finance mandates across sponsor and corporate clients.
  • Develop tailored financing ideas, capital structure solutions, and market updates for clients.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute meaningfully to discussion and presentation delivery.
  • Build strong internal relationships across M&A, Sector Coverage, ECM, and Sales & Trading teams to drive integrated client coverage.
Market & Product Expertise
  • Maintain deep understanding of leveraged loan and high‑yield bond markets, investor sentiment, pricing trends, and structuring considerations.
  • Track relevant macroeconomic developments affecting financing markets.
  • Provide insight and guidance on optimal execution strategies for borrowers.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Associates and Analysts; provide feedback, training, and oversight on deliverables.
  • Ensure efficient workflow across deal teams; set expectations and drive strong performance culture.
  • Uphold Jefferies’ standards for quality, integrity, and client service.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 6–8+ years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, debt capital markets, or related investment banking roles.
  • Proven track record executing leveraged loan and/or high‑yield transactions in EMEA.
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of leveraged credit markets, documentation, investor dynamics, and rating processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead deal teams and manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
