Role
Jefferies International’s Core Operations Development team is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Reconciliations Developer / Recs Configuration Specialist to support the design, configuration, implementation, and migration of reconciliations onto a new platform hosted in our on-prem AWS environment.
This hands-on role requires strong experience in reconciliations, data analysis, data processing, SQL, and stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will play a key role in building new reconciliations from scratch, analysing data flows, supporting data migration activities, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy across platforms.
The ideal candidate will have experience with reconciliation platforms such as
Frontier, Intelli Match , or similar tools. Candidates with strong reconciliation experience and the ability to quickly learn new products and platforms will also be considered.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Design, configure, test, and implement reconciliations across operations processes delivering controls across trade and settlement lifecycles
- Build new reconciliations from scratch, including defining data inputs, matching rules, exception handling, outputs, and control processes.
- Analyse source and target data to understand data flows, identify breaks, investigate exceptions, and define reconciliation requirements.
- Ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy across platforms and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate inputs to regulatory reporting
- Write, review, and debug SQL queries to support data investigation, reconciliation logic, exception analysis, and issue resolution.
- Support data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, testing, parallel runs, reconciliation of migrated data, and post-migration issue resolution.
- Work closely with business users, Operations, Technology, control teams, and other internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective reconciliation solutions.
- Manage relationships and interactions with external vendors, including issue tracking, delivery coordination, product queries, configuration support, and implementation planning.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, control enhancements, and automation.
- Perform system analysis and troubleshooting to maintain reliable reconciliation processes and support operational stability.
- Document reconciliation designs, data mappings, configuration decisions, testing evidence, support procedures, and operational handover materials.
- Participate in Agile delivery processes where applicable, including planning sessions, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with reconciliations, data analysis, SQL, and large datasets.
- Strong hands-on experience configuring, supporting, or implementing reconciliation platforms.
- Experience with Frontier, Intelli Match, or similar reconciliation tools is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation concepts, including matching logic, exception management, data enrichment, tolerances, workflows, and controls.
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, analyse, and debug queries.
- Strong data processing and data analysis skills, with the ability to investigate complex breaks and identify root causes.
- Experience building reconciliations from scratch, from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, implementation, and support.
- Experience supporting data migration projects, including mapping, validation, parallel run analysis, and issue resolution.
- Ability to quickly learn new reconciliation platforms, vendor products, and data models.
- Experience working in financial services, banking operations, Middle Office, or related control functions is preferred.
- Experience working with vendor-hosted or Saa S platforms would be advantageous.
- Experience managing external vendors and coordinating delivery across internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Jira or Azure Dev Ops is beneficial.
