The Opportunity

Jefferies is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its London-based Industrials Investment Banking team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the execution of M&A, equity capital markets, debt financing, and broader strategic advisory transactions for leading industrial companies and financial sponsor clients across EMEA. This position offers significant client exposure, responsibility, and the opportunity to work alongside senior bankers on high-profile transactions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Execution
    • Support and lead the execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates.
    • Manage multiple workstreams across live transactions and client engagements.
    • Coordinate due diligence processes, data rooms, and transaction documentation.
    • Prepare and review marketing materials, management presentations, information memoranda, and board materials.
    • Liaise with clients, legal advisors, accountants, lenders, and other transaction parties.
  • Financial Analysis & Valuation
    • Build and review complex financial models, including:
      • Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
      • Trading Comparables
      • Transaction Comparables
      • LBO Analysis
      • Merger Models
    • Conduct detailed financial, strategic, and industry analysis.
    • Develop valuation materials and transaction recommendations for clients.
  • Client Development
    • Support senior bankers in preparing client pitches and strategic presentations.
    • Contribute market intelligence, sector insights, and company-specific analysis.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and advisers.
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Oversee and mentor Analysts on financial modelling, valuation work, and presentation materials.
    • Review work products to ensure high standards of accuracy and quality.
    • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
  • 3–6 years of relevant investment banking experience.
  • Demonstrated experience executing M&A and capital markets transactions.
  • Strong financial modelling, accounting, and valuation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred

  • Previous Industrials sector experience.
  • Experience advising both corporate and private equity clients.
  • Cross-border transaction experience within EMEA or globally.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA or equivalent are advantageous.
