The VP is a senior technical accounting specialist responsible for overseeing the P&L, valuation and control environment for complex, multi entity Fixed Income funding structures. The role requires technical depth, strong judgement and the ability to explain accounting outcomes to senior management. You will be involved across the deal lifecycle, ensuring accurate booking, consolidation and reporting for structured transactions, many of which involve SPVs and non standard funding flows. This position is ideal for a technical accountant seeking to specialise in Fixed Income and structured funding frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Daily & Accounting Oversight
- Day 1 P&L review and attribution
- Presenting booking model flows and transaction structures to senior management
- Flash vs Actual analysis
- Fair value adjustments and local reporting requirements
- Assess inventory impacts and associated funding costs
- Trade lifecycle management across multiple entities
- Balance sheet substantiation
- Reconciliation of reported P&L to the ledger
- Booking of fair value adjustments
- Booking and analysis of local GAAP differences (including Hedge Accounting and CTA Hedging)
- Contribute to and challenge IPV outcomes
- Prepare management packs covering structured deals and P&L movement commentary
- Lead enhancements to process and system flows to improve automation and control
- Act as technical SME during new product implementations or system builds
- Provide senior level commentary, insights and reporting
- Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQE
- Strong technical accounting background across multi entity structures and funding frameworks
- Experience within Fixed Income and/or funding products in a Banking or Fund environment
- Understanding and application of accounting concepts such as hedge accounting, FX hedging and CTA hedging
- Knowledge of reserving methodologies and valuation adjustments
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and present technical topics clearly to senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and work efficiently under pressure
- Confident in rationalising and automating processes
