Associate - M&A Team

OverviewJefferies is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team in London. The role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of high-profile, cross-border transactions across multiple sectors, advising corporates, private equity firms, and financial sponsors.The successful candidate will play a key role in deal execution, working senior bankers to originate new business.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side mandates, strategic advisory, and defence assignmentsLead the preparation of financial models (DCF, LBO, trading comps, transaction comps) and valuation analysesDevelop and review high-quality client materials, including pitch books, IMs, management presentations, and board materialsCoordinate due diligence processes and manage data rooms, advisors, and client interactionsSupport senior bankers in client relationship management and business development effortsSupervise and mentor Analysts, ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverablesStay abreast of market developments, sector trends, and comparable transactionsQualifications & Experience3–5 years of relevant investment banking experience, preferably within an M&A team at a top-tier bank or advisory firmStrong technical skills, with advanced proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniquesDemonstrated experience managing multiple workstreams across live transactionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detailProven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environmentBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or a related disciplinePersonal AttributesHighly driven, proactive, and intellectually curiousStrong team player with the ability to collaborate across teams and geographiesCommercial mindset with a genuine interest in corporate finance and strategic advisoryExcellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing prioritiesWhy Join Jefferies?Entrepreneurial culture with lean deal teams and significant responsibility from day oneStrong deal flow across sectors and consistent market share in European M&AOpportunity to work closely with senior bankers and clientsClear progression path and meritocratic environmentJefferies is a leading global, full-service investment banking and capital markets firm that provides advisory, sales and trading, research, and wealth and asset management services.
