About Us
We are a family-run independent garage based in Livingston, West Lothian, specialising in the maintenance, repair, and breakdown support of cars and light commercial vehicles. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join our team.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
- Every second Saturday: 8:30am – 13:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing and maintenance of cars and light commercial vehicles (vans)
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- General mechanical and some electrical repairs
- High volume of breakdown and reactive repair work
- Pre-MOT inspections and repairs
- MOT preparation (MOT licence desirable)
- Fleet inspections and routine checks
- Working efficiently under time pressure to return vehicles to service
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working as a vehicle technician/mechanic
- Experience with cars and light commercial vehicles (vans)
- Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- MOT licence desirable but not essential
- Proven experience working with:
- Wet belt systems
- AdBlue systems
- Turbochargers
- Solid understanding of vehicle electrics desirable
- Must have own tools
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points
- Flexible attitude to working hours
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
