JDT Utilities Ltd is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Manager to lead our Wessex Operation. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will be accountable for the coordination and delivery of Tier 1 gas operations. This is a vital leadership role focused on maintaining momentum, achieving ambitious KPIs, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and cost‑effective asset utilisation across your teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Direct management and administration of Tier 1 Project Managers and gas operations teams, including training needs, competence monitoring, and resource planning.
- Project Delivery: Execute the Tier 1 operational plan to meet targets and KPIs, acting as the primary Point of Contact for the Plans Department to ensure situational awareness and reduced reactive activity.
- End‑to‑End Oversight: Ensure Project Managers maintain full ownership of projects from due diligence and traffic management development through to site clears and local authority liaison.
- Systems Management: Drive the maximum use of PULSE as the primary project planning and reporting tool, ensuring timely and accurate data input.
- Compliance and Safety: Oversee engineering and safety standards, conducting audits, assurance checks, and toolbox talks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Financial Management: Manage the timely submission of project financial elements, including POs, invoices, and variations, while ensuring all resources are used within set budgets.
- Professional Development: Act as a mentor for Project Managers, fostering professional growth and reinforcing company policies and SOPs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Mandatory: IOSH Leading Safely, SHEA Gas, Street Works Supervisor (Dual), and extensive engineering experience within the industry.
- Preferred: SCO Levels 1, 2, and 5, MS Projects, Temporary Works designs, and I&D training awareness.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage diverse teams and collaborate with internal departments such as Customer Care and Reinstatement.

- Salary: £55,000 to £62,500 per annum (dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience).
