Role Overview
The Finance Transformation programme seeks to deliver a series of improvements across Finance at group and business unit level. The Senior Project Manager will manage people, tasks, plans, schedules and resources throughout the project lifecycle, focussing on two to three key projects within the Finance Transformation team.
Team Structure
The Project Manager reports to the Head of Finance Transformation and works closely with the Programme Delivery lead and business leads across IT, Tax, Treasury, ICFR, data and process functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate planning sessions for project development and execution.
- Collaborate with business representatives to understand, document and refine the business requirements.
- Co‑manage delivery with vendor project teams on behalf of the JD finance team.
- Conduct risk analysis to reduce unforeseen obstacles and costs.
- Create and maintain a RAID log for each project.
- Identify staffing and resource needs to maximise project success.
- Define project objectives and scope, and identify involvement of internal and external stakeholders.
- Report project progress to Delivery and Business leads.
- Support the Change lead with project training and change management requirements.
- Delegate project activities and duties in accordance with team members’ strengths and experience.
- Provide summarised project plan documentation to departmental managers, clients and other stakeholders as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience with finance projects.
- Experience of business, people and technology change with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope and budget.
- Ability to set and meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards.
- Excellent planning, influencing and communication skills, with a talent for building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities in written and spoken form.
- Energetic, driven, enthusiastic and proactive.
- Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities.
