JDS Tuition Services is one of the leading alternative education providers working nationwide, supporting students aged 4–25 with a range of educational and therapeutic needs. We are committed to delivering exceptional support and personalised learning for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, helping each learner reach their full potential. We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated SEN/SEMH Tutors to work across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.

As an SEN/SEMH Tutor, you will provide tailored one-to-one tuition and support to students with a variety of additional needs, adapting your teaching approach to suit individual learning styles and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalised tuition sessions tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Develop and implement bespoke learning plans in collaboration with educational professionals and parents/carers.
  • Provide emotional and social support, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and adapting strategies where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and external agencies to support student development.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements:
  • PGCE and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with students with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of a range of SEN/SEMH conditions and effective intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of students.
