Full Job Description:

JDS Tuition Services is currently looking for Tutors for students with SEN, SEMH, and/or Behavioural Challenges in the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough area. Previous outreach tutoring experience is not necessary, but candidates must have experience working with children with SEN, SEMH, and/or Behavioural Challenges on a one-to-one basis.

JDS Tuition Services offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community by helping students reach their academic and therapeutic goals.

The Role:

  • From 10 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term time, between 08:30-15:30.
  • Tutoring sessions take place within students\’ homes, local libraries, community centres, and safe spaces.
  • Working with students awaiting school placement, students who have been excluded, and students with various needs such as ASD or SEMH.
  • Students are aged between 4 and 24 years.

The Tutor:

  • Ideally hold QTS or equivalent; applications from unqualified Teachers and Teacher’s Assistants with strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, and/or Science are also welcome.
  • Primary, secondary, or SEND trained candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to engage with students who may be disinterested in education or schooling.
  • Patience and understanding of students’ individual needs.
  • Complete weekly reports on students’ progress and targets.
