Location: Mansfield (Forest Town) & Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Tutor to join our team, supporting two students across two nearby locations in Nottinghamshire. The students include:

  • Year 5 female based in Forest Town, Mansfield
  • Year 10 male based in Ashfield

This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition that is tailored to each student's individual learning needs, helping them build confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, one-to-one tuition tailored to each student's individual learning style.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans in collaboration with parents, carers and other professionals.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Provide emotional and pastoral support, creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and adapting lessons where required.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your knowledge and practice.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or significant experience in a similar tutoring or teaching role.
  • Proven experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Knowledge and experience of using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic and flexible approach.
  • The ability to work independently and adapt to the individual needs of each student.
  • A genuine passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential.
