We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated SENDCo to join the team on a one-year maternity cover fixed-term contract. As SENDCo, you will play a central role in shaping an inclusive provision where high expectations and support go hand in hand. You will work closely with experienced colleagues to ensure that students with SEND are fully supported to access an ambitious curriculum and a broad co-curricular programme. This is an opportunity to contribute to a culture where every learner is enabled to thrive and reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities- Lead the school’s SEND strategy, ensuring high-quality, inclusive provision that enables all pupils to make strong progress
- Ensure full compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act, maintaining effective policies, EHCP processes, and accurate reporting
- Champion inclusive teaching and learning by supporting staff to deliver adaptive, ambitious classroom practice across all subjects
- Develop staff expertise through high-quality professional development and leadership of the SEND Support Team, building whole‑school capacity
- Monitor outcomes and inclusion data to drive improvement, support effective transitions, and ensure full participation in school life for all SEND students
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- SENDCo qualification
This role is subject to enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references. The successful candidate will be expected to share a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
