- 1:1 basis
This is a long-term, full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
- Trial days are taking place immediately
- , with an immediate start available and the role continuing until at least July 2027
About the Role
- Supporting a Reception pupil with
Cerebral Palsy on a 1:1 basis.
- Providing personal care
- , including assistance with toileting
- Supporting the pupil with wheelchair mobility throughout the school day.
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, therapists and wider school staff to ensure the pupil can fully access learning.
- Supporting the pupil's communication and language development, working alongside Speech and Language recommendations where appropriate.
- Full-time position,
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Excellent rates of pay.
- Long-term opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent contract.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A minimum of
6-12 months' experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a school.
- Previous experience supporting children with physical disabilities
- , ideally including
- Cerebral Palsy
- Experience providing personal care and assisting with toileting
The Role Will Include
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Assisting with personal care and toileting in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Supporting safe wheelchair transfers and mobility around the school.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in classroom activities.
- Supporting communication using Speech and Language strategies provided by professionals.
- Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and resources where required.
- Helping the pupil to achieve their individual learning and development targets.
To Apply, You Must
- Hold a current
Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
- Have at least
6-12 months' experience supporting children within a school setting.
- Have previous experience delivering personal care
Must be happy to carry out personal care duties!
- Have experience supporting pupils with physical needs and/or Cerebral Palsy
(desirable).
- Have experience implementing
Speech and Language strategies (desirable).
- Be available to start immediately on a full-time basis.
