JDS Recruitment is currently seeking a confident and resilient HLTA with a strong Science specialism to join a well-established Alternative Provision within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver timetabled Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, following a structured curriculum, while supporting students aged 11-16 with behavioural, social, and emotional needs. You will be leading small group sessions, providing 1:1 support, and playing a key role in re‑engaging learners with education.

The school operates across three campuses and is rated Good by Ofsted, offering a supportive SLT, strong staff collaboration, and a clear focus on emotional development, life skills, and academic progress.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience delivering structured lessons and following a Science curriculum
  • Is calm, resilient, and confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Can build strong, professional relationships with students
  • Is available to trial immediately
